Lyrics

So this is Christmas, when all the smiles are free
But my favorite present ain't under a Christmas Tree
The best gift of all by far can't be wrapped in paper or tape
The most thoughtful present is glittering on your face

People crowd around light bulbs and plastic
Saying stuff like "Owwwww, how fanstastic"
Me, I don't prefer material Christmases
Just give me my love and a fireside kiss
We can sit and watch the snow cover the ground
The thing about Christmas is it's happening all year round

And it's been a really long, long time
Since I believed a single Christmas rhyme
But since these are about you
I have no doubt that they are true

So this is the time of year when the radio sings carols
Hypnotizing everyone so they forget real life perils
Now it's night and I'm awake, staring at the sky as my whole body shakes
Just watch my Christmas tale unfold
This time I'm not shivering from the cold
We can sit and watch the snow cover the ground
The thing about Christmas is it's happening all year round
