An extraordinary evening. The Professors drive 4-plus hours to perform in Crystal City, Virgina (just over the river from Washington, DC) as part of the annual conference of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T). All was going well, the stage was set, the new stage lighting was looking great, the band was rehearsed and tight, and our audience was lively and ready to have fun. And then, during our fourth number, the power went out. There was a huge thunderstorm outside and power was lost for the entire block. But, amazingly, the show went on. The conference organizers announced that the cash bar was now an open bar. And under the soft glow of a single emergency light, Gary played acoustic guitar and Meg and Jenn performed a vocal set for the ages, with help from Nick R., Joe, and Marie on the tambourine. Check it out on the videos!
